MSQUARE developed and produced a series of social first digital ads for The Mellow Mat, including animation of The Mellow Mat and the product’s features. To maintain a higher level of authenticity, the team casted a real family with two young children and a Cavoodle puppy. We wanted to capture the practical benefits of the product in an authentic way that aligns with family values - spending quality time together. This was accomplished through a series of moments between the parents and their kids playing / relaxing / reading on The Mellow Mat. One of the most important components that director Michael Cristian Greene emphasised was the need to lean into realistic performances without feeling too commercial - an aspect that gave the final films a sense of relatability.
